Valentines Dinner

So for Valentines day this year Jesse and I really wanted to do something fun for our families... So we decided we would have a "Formal Valentines Dinner" NO kids Just adults, I cant remember the last time I got to sit down to a formal dinner with all my siblings and there spouses WITHOUT children....not even sure if its EVER happened....It was SOOOOO much fun...Jesse and I decorated our dinning/ living room as best we could to get the mood right....we moved furniture out and the whole bit to transform this into what looked like a ballroom. We have red and white tool that hung from the ceilings, rose pedals that covered the floors and tables, and we used about 100 candles! SOOO Romantic! Jesse made a playlist of all our favorite love songs...I made invitations and sent them out, and then for dinner we got to serve everyone...we did a 6 course dinner... which went quite well this was how the menu went:

-Focaccia bread with strawberry balsamic vinegar and oil dip-

- a light chicken broth and mushroom soup(tempanyaki soup) -

- Roasted Artichokes with lemon butter dipping sauce (or mayo) -

- Lime sorbet with lemon zest on top (this is a European way of clearing the pallet for dinner) -

- Oven roasted Cornish game hens, stuffed with a parmesan flavored cuscus with pine nuts, and a side of asparagus -

- And desert was chocolate dipped strawberries -

- Drinks were Martinelle’s with fresh diced strawberries -

We really wanted to make this as fancy as we could....I think it went really well....Jesse was an excellent chef and host and we had a ball! after Dinner we played a few games and just talked and laughed the night away...I HIGHLY suggest this if you are able....We love our Families so much and what a good time to show that....the best Valentines by far! I think the best part was that we got to do it twice...we did it one Wednesday night with Jesses family and then on Friday night before valentines with my Family, Thank you to all who were able to come! And for all those who were unable to make it we sure missed you a lot!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
